The Psychotherapy Training Program at OPC combines academic and experiential learning that enables students to integrate self-knowledge, embedded learning, interpersonal communication, theory and skills into practice in psychotherapy and counseling. The training program offers a rich five-year curriculum in a flexible format that enables students to attend to work, family and other aspects of their lives. Registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 Events Become a Therapist Resources Apply to Program Therapist Referrals Become A Psychotherapist And Counselor OPC’s Psychotherapist Training Curriculum is an approved educational program by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is in alignment with the competencies expected by the CRPO for entry to practice and registration as a Registered Psychotherapists, as well as with psychotherapist professional associations. OPC has been actively involved with other psychotherapy training programs in Ontario through the Alliance of Psychotherapy Training Institutes (APTI) and with the College’s work towards formulating a core curriculum for training psychotherapists. Our goal is to ensure that our graduate psychotherapists are well prepared to become Registered Psychotherapists with the CRPO. OPC Update on COVID The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is a top concern amid the global COVID‐19 pandemic. During this time, all of us must place an increased focus on health and safety in order to protect the health and safety of everyone and to keep College operations running safely. OPC has instituted policies and procedures that ensure the safety for all involved in our learning community. Currently, we are offering all of our learning modules through remote classrooms and learning for the entire Fall semester. We will continue to monitor and follow all public health directives, as well as direction from the Superintendent of the Private Career Colleges (PCC) branch of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) as we determine the method for ongoing delivery of the OPC Program after the Dec. break. We will announce any changes as soon as we are able to do so, with the information available to us and within the approval of the MTCU. OPC has also instituted policies regarding use of the OPC premises that include directives to: Clean regularly touched items. Clean work surfaces often. Conduct meetings remotely whenever possible. Post health and safety signage. Maintain social distancing by remaining 2 metres apart while on premises. Wear masks/facial coverings at all times on OPC premises. Practice proper hand hygiene.
